Phil Koch, Administrator/Owner – Phil Koch is the Owner and Administrator of the licensed Family Care Home – Senior Retreat at Lansdowne.  For the last 11 years, Phil has owned and operated ComForCare Home Care, one of the most decorated and largest licensed Non-Medical Home Care Agency operating throughout the Greater Charlotte Market.  Phil has a BSBA and obtained his MBA from Wake Forest University.  He has been the TV Host for Channel 21’s “Ageing with Attitude” since 2013.  He has sat on numerous BOD’s including the Shepherd Center, Parkinson’s Association, The Family Center, and CMAC – just to name a few.  Phil also owns two other companies including Pet Sitters of Charlotte (Pet Sitting Agency) and Carolina Nannies and Sitters (Nanny/Babysitting Agency).  Phil’s wife is also heavily experienced and connected in the Senior Community currently employed at a large DME/Hospice Group.  The couple have 3 boys; one at Clemson University and 2 Teenagers going to school in Fort Mill, SC.

Carla Kirchner, Supervisor In Charge – Originally from Massachusetts, Carla now lives in Indian Land, SC with her Husband. With 5 children and 13 Grandchildren (1 on the way!), she stays busy with family and outdoor activities such as going to the pool and gardening. She has 30 years’ experience in Geriatrics and enjoys all aspects of caring for others.

Jodi Valenstein , Community Liaison – Jodi is married to Greg for over 22 years. They have 2 kids; Michael 20 and Erica 17 and of course her baby Chip a maltipoo. Jodi joined ComforCare in August after completing a Certificate of Gerontology from UNCC. Prior to working at Comforcare she was home for a few years playing a large role in her children’s soccer lives. She worked from 2006-2011 as the Adult Program Director at the Levine Jewish Community Center. She has a Masters of elementary education from CW Post University and a BBA in marketing from George Washington University.

Dawn, Activities Coordinator

Kristin Trapp, Registered Nurse – Kristin has called Charlotte home for five years, after relocating from Atlanta. She graduated from Mercer University and has worked in the Emergency Department and Labor and Delivery. She is happily married with 2 children, ages 3 and 1, with her third child arriving this winter. She is an active member at her church and serves on the board of the Lansdowne Civic Association.
